Het Belgisch kampioenschap in mijn achtertuin! Het parcours liep door het natuurreservaat De Lovenhoek dat ik ken als mijn broekzak; Een interessante locatie was dan ook snel gevonden. De droogte had ervoor gezorgd dat het meer een zandcross werd daar en dat moest leuke beelden opleveren. A few years back I tried to photograph pelicans and flamingo's from floating hide in Albania. I enjoyed it but it was not a great success. It was impossible to approach them with the floating hide. The flamingo's were the worst. I crawled several times in their direction hoping they would be closer when I looked up, but they were even further away; they went way faster than me. The pelicans were better but there the water where they were feeding was not easily accessible with the floating...

For a while now I was looking around to find an opportunity to photograph little terns (dwergstern). I found it in Poland along the Vistula river thanks to my local guide Lukasz Boch who made this possible.
